Buckner Event Plaza has a rich heritage. It is one of the early McClellan buildings designed and constructed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. This historic former Post Recreation Center has undergone major restoration/rehabilitation to become a regional venue for the arts. Three separate buildings, linked by an arcade of arches facing the ceremonial parade ground, compose the 32,000 square foot triad of concrete and masonry structures built in 1936.
Buckner Events Plaza is designed to attract artisans and craftspeople in drama, music, dance, painting, film and associated arts. Receptions, conferences and social events are beautifully accommodated in a variety of architectural spaces to be found here.
Buckner Events Plaza is located in the heart of the Spanish Colonial Historic District.
